On 25-27 September 2014 in the conference hall of the Żubrówka Hotel in Białowieża will take place the VIII National Scientific-training Conference on Neuroinfections organized by Department of Infectious Diseases and Neuroinfections of the Medical University in Białystok.
Department of Infectious Diseases and Neuroinfections since 1993 has been organizing every 3 years National Scientific Conferences on Neuroinfections. At previous meetings took part a large circle of doctors and workers of Sanitary Inspections from all scientific centres in Poland. Specialists in a lot of fields of medicine first of all in the scope of infectious diseases, rheumatology, neurology and epidemiology presented their reports.
The main subjects of this years’ conference will be the following: epidemiological situation and clinical aspects of diseases of the central nervous system with infectious and parasitic aetiology appearing in Poland, paying special attention to tick-borne diseases: Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis as well as anaplasmosis and babesiosis. Moreover, other issues connected with some other infectious diseases, especially with constant changes in epidemiological situation will be discussed. Another session will be devoted to the problems of peculiar prophylaxis of infectious diseases. The organizers are also going to broaden the subject matter of the session with new little-known pathogens transmitted by ticks and identified in recent years.
